Jono's Memory Run: Take 2

Hi everybody!

This year I'm back fundraising for Alzheimer's Australia ACT for the 7km Memory Walk & Jog in September. Last year we raised $2,268 and managed to be the top fundraisers in the ACT, and this year I'm hoping to beat that by raising $3000!

Alzheimer's Australia do a wonderful job at supporting families gripped with the unfair and cruel impact of a dementia diagnosis, and the money raised goes directly to reducing the impacts of Alzheimer's and Dementia on families in the ACT. I was humbled by the overhwelming response I receieved last year from so many different people I've met in different areas of my life.

There are more than 413,106 Australians living with dementia

By 2025 the number of people with dementia is expected to increase to 536,164

By 2025 the total cost of dementia is predicted to increase to $18.7 billion in today’s dollars, and by 2056 to over $36.8 billion

Without a medical breakthrough, the number of people with dementia is expected to reach 1,100,890 by 2056

Currently around 244 people each day are joining the population with dementia. The number of new cases of dementia will increase to 318 people per day by 2025 and over 650 people per day by 2056

Through here you can easily support my efforts by making a secure donation. I would also really appreciate it if you could share my page through Facebook or comment below so more people know about it and can contribute.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible and you will be issued with a DGR receipt via email as soon as you make a donation.

Thanks so much for your support! I was overwhelmed by the response last year and I'm really hoping to make this year even bigger!
